The Biogas User Survey (BUS) 2024 is a key initiative under the Indonesia Domestic Biogas Program (IDBP), also known as the BIRU program, implemented by Yayasan Rumah Energi (YRE). Since its launch, IDBP has installed 29,601 biodigesters across 12 provinces, fostering a market-driven biogas sector with the support of 40 Construction Partner Organizations (CPOs).
BUS 2024 serves as a comprehensive evaluation tool to assess user satisfaction, measure technical performance, and analyze socio-economic and environmental impacts of biogas technology. Additionally, the survey plays a vital role in carbon monitoring, ensuring compliance with the Gold Standard for the Global Goals (GS4GG). Now in its 13th iteration, the survey examines biogas adoption's energy, health, sanitation, agricultural, gender, and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction benefits.
The Resilience Development Initiative (RDI), a leading think tank with expertise in monitoring, evaluation, and data analysis, supports this initiative by:
Through this initiative, BUS 2024 aims to comprehensively assess biogas adoption’s impact on energy access, health, sanitation, agriculture, socio-economic conditions, and gender equity, ultimately contributing to a more sustainable and resilient energy future for Indonesia.
