Dr. Saut Sagala is a professional consultant and researcher with over 21 years of experience . He is currently sitting as the Associate Professor and Program Director of the Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Urban and Regional Planning and Transportation, SAPPK ITB.

His works have been on interdisciplinary and resilience studies, including Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation, Financing, Sustainable and Green Development, Renewable Energy, GEDSI, and also Policy and Governance . He has received about 300+ research projects & consultancies through various grant / competitive sources. Dr. Saut has also published over 200 internationally recognized publications, among others in International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction, International Planning Studies, CITIES: The International Journal of Regional and City Planning, Environmental Hazards, International Journal of Disaster Risk Management, Jurnal Tata Loka (Spatial Planning), Jurnal Forum Geografi, Jurnal Mimbar, Jurnal Bumi Lestari (Environmental Science), etc.

Dr. Saut also has strong networks with the international community, agencies, and institutions , such as ASEAN, UN, Development Banks (WB, ADB, IDB, JBIC), associations & consortium (GNDR, IDRIM, DiBiCoo, CRESUM HYRES). Dr. Saut has strong networks & working experiences with GoI (Government of Indonesia) in development related ministries, such as: Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas), Ministry of Public Works & Housing, Ministry of Spatial Planning and Agrarian, Ministry of Social Affairs, National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK).
