Background :

Road traffic injuries affect all age groups, but their impact is striking among the young. Road deaths will rise to the fifth leading cause of death by 2030. Indonesia is in a critical position in moving to stamp control on the levels of safety experienced by its citizens on its road networks. Indonesia faces a high growth of motorized vehicles, particularly motorcycles. Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik has started a program aiming at reducing the risk of children and youth being involved in road traffic accidents in the Jakarta province.

Aims and Objectives :

  • Provide and analyze disaggregated data on the road safety knowledge of students, teachers, and students’ parents at targeted schools – Provide and analyze disaggregated data on the road safety attitude and practice of students at targeted schools
  • Identify the existing IEC materials or other education materials for road safety – Identify the existing activities or initiative programs related to road safety at schools.
  • Analyze the community environment for child and youth road safety, which includes road safety infrastructure around schools, CBOs, and other local partners who share the same agenda
