The Sustainable Use of Peatland and Haze Mitigation (SUPA) project has been designed with the objective of promoting sustainable management of peatlands across the ASEAN region. The project has several stated objectives, including the implementation of the ASEAN Programme on Sustainable Management of Peatland Ecosystems (APSMPE), the ASEAN Peatland Management Strategy (APMS), and National Action Plans on Peatlands (NAPPs) at the local, national, and regional levels. Furthermore, the project aims to reduce peatland fires and the associated haze, manage targeted peatlands while simultaneously reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and enhance livelihoods through the promotion of sustainable peatland practices.
