AIHSP collaborates with Indonesia’s Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture, other relevant national government agencies, and the Government of Australia in strengthening the Indonesian Government’s systems to prevent, detect, and respond to public health and animal health emergencies, as well as enhancing national coordination for addressing health threats at local, regional, and global levels. This project operates in five provinces: Special Region of (Daerah Istimewa/DI) Yogyakarta, Central Java, Bali, South Sulawesi, and East Nusa Tenggara. Recognizing the significance of gender equality, disability inclusion, and social aspects is crucial to be integrated into the program’s approach to health security and primary healthcare. Understanding the diverse impacts of health security on individuals from different backgrounds and contexts informs AIHSP’s planning and implementation of Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) considerations at both national and provincial levels.
Aims and Objectives
- to identify cultural beliefs, knowledge gaps, and other factors on gender equality within AIHSP’s government partners,
- to assess the current situation and level of understanding of AIHSP’s government partners at national, provincial, and district levels concerning gender equality and gender mainstreaming in their respective work areas, and
- to identify the attitudes, systems, and structures required to formulate and provide recommendations on how to improve gender empowerment and equality within relevant government ministries/agencies and local governments.
Location
DKI Jakarta, DI Yogyakarta, Central Java, Bali, South Sulawesi, and East Nusa Tenggara.
