Background:
SNV is a not-for-profit development organization working in 38 countries to improve the health and livelihoods of millions of people. Their WASH SDGs Programme supports local governments in Indonesia to achieve sustainable and inclusive city-wide sanitation services. The program aims to address the entire sanitation chain and answer different needs among the population with appropriate and sustainable service delivery models. SNV will conduct a Gender and Social Inclusion assessment during the program’s inception phase. Access to sanitation is a human right, and governments are duty bearers of the progressive realization of this right.
Aims and Objectives:
To highlight gender and social inclusion (GESI) assessment; including :
(1) existing GESI condition,
(2) issues related to GESI,
(3) impact to WASH Program,
(4) and opportunity and challenge related to GESI.
Scope:
The study focuses on Metro, Bandar Lampung, and Tasikmalaya city on their existing conditions, issues, impact to WASH Program, and opportunity and challenge related to GESI.
Methodology:
-Data collection: desk review, in-depth interview, FGD.
-Data analysis: content analysis, stakeholder analysis.
