In July, RDI UREF, in collaboration with Jesuit Refugee Service Indonesia (JRS Indonesia), conducted a simulation workshop titled “Re-Imagining Urban Refugee Management in Indonesia.” The workshop, hosted on the Gather Town Platform, involved around 20 participants divided into two discussion groups. Its aim was to explore the dynamics of refugee management at the municipal level, helping participants better comprehend the challenges, opportunities, and complexities in the current system. Through immersive and interactive experiences, participants assumed various roles representing refugee management stakeholders, such as village heads, NGOs, refugee representatives, and educational institutions. The workshop fostered innovative thinking and discussions on creating a more equitable refugee management system.
